Lens-flare – A Photography Exhibition
Artist Reception: Thursday September 1 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
September 1 4 to September 30, 2016

Las Laguna Gallery is proud to announce a Lens-flare – A Photography Exhibition.

Commercially introduced to the public in 1839, photography allowed users to record visual images.  With its inception photographers quickly learned certain “rules” for the creation of the perfect picture. These “rules” include: Subject, Composition, Focus, Lighting, Approach, and Story. We solicited artists working with various types of cameras to present the captured image with the intent to provide art that evokes emotion, inspires, or excites.

Selected from hundreds of submissions, these twenty artists provided unique interpretation of imagery through their use of photography and mediums.

Works include traditional Photography, Digital Photography, Polaroid, Tintypes and more.

Celebrate Labor Day Early! Please join with our 17 fabulous and talented artists as we say goodbye to summer.First Thursdays Art Walk – Thursday, September 1st – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Kara Lee’s paintings are primarily acrylics on canvas, bursting with vibrant colors and a distinctive style that is uniquely her own. The beauty of Southern California, where Kara has been a resident since 2003, has largely inspired her artwork.

Kara loves color, and working with acrylics allows her to record her colorful impressions almost as quickly as her mind processes the subject. Kara describes her new paintings as contemporary abstract Fauvism, since they project the combined effects of the vibrant colors of the Fauves and the dynamic style of modern abstraction.

“Nature is my starting point but not my final destination,” Kara Lee.
