‘BRING US YOUR DEAD’ – Dia de los Muertos

Show Dates: October 4th – October 26th, 2018

Opening and Artists’ Reception: Thursday, October 4th, 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday celebrated by many throughout Mexico and around the world. It is an ancient and enduring ritual in which the living commune with the dead – a mystical night when the veil is lifted between these two realms.

On The Day of the Dead, the lives of deceased loved ones are often commemorated by building altars or creating artwork and gathering around our offerings to share their stories. This tradition is the subject of our show this month.

Exhibiting artists include: Barbara Rivera, Brandin Baron, Sharon Buck, Jamie Burnside, Mary Clark Camargo, Missy Reitner Cameron, Jennifer Carberry-Landis, Jessica Cervantes, Bobbye Cochran, Betty Cox, Jamie Craddock Johnson, Mark Dierker, Lalana Fedorschak, Morgan Kari, Alexis Kennedy, William Lopez, Carol Maltby, Ron Riddel, Katy Tackes, and Samantha Varela.

Las Laguna Gallery is open Sun-Wed from 11A-6:30P and Thur-Sat from 11A-7P

The Signature Gallery

Join us for ArtWalk, October 4, 2018 from 6:30-9pm, featuring a new collection of work by painter, Michael Pabst.

Michael’s  strong textured landscapeshave a distinct style that grabs your attention at first glance. Simultaneously described as a contemporary realist and impressionistic colorist, his paintings reflect both his engineering education as well as his artistic upbringing.

“Studying structure and physics actually gave me a solid background for ‘building’ a painting, especially design and perspective. I have always been creative and love to build and make things. I enjoyed designing and building homes, but always continued painting. Painting brings all the things I love together.”

Nuance Home + Lifestyle

Nuance in conjunction with Scape Fine Art presents the work of Mary Little, Kristina Grace and Chris Richter

Join us for light refreshments on Thursday, October 4th from 6-9 pm.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

MARY LITTLE
Shortly after graduating from the Royal College of Art in London, Mary Little’s work entered the permanent collections of the Vitra Design Museum in Basel and Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Now living in Los Angeles, her latest work has evolved to become increasingly abstract, exploring themes of landscape, pattern and repetition.

KRISTINA GRACE
Kristina Grace is a fine artist who both resides and draws inspiration from the Southern California coastline. Living in Newport Beach has served as a constant source of inspiration for Grace. Her life and work reflect countless hours spent on the sand surrounded by surfers and the culture that comes with it.

CHRIS RICHTER
Richter began working full time as a painter in 2003, after a formidable career in advertising, graphic design and illustration. Making compelling, well-executed work is a reflection on how influential the commercial art experience has been on his fine art career.

We are also happy to continue our partnership with artists Ferdos Maleki and Susan Leonard.
