Laguna Dance Festival presents:
Flamenco featuring Marcela Aguayo
Free performances during First Thursdays Art Walk
Thursday, March 2, 2017
6:30pm & 7:00pm
Join us as you experience an intimate night of flamenco and watch the artists personal stories unfold and feed off each other as each performer adds essential elements to this magical and energetic night. Their life experience will be shared with you through flamenco rhythms that have been passed down to them from the southern part of Spain, Andalucía. They will be performing Alegrías which is a happy dance, Solea por Bulerias which is more solemn and serious in nature and Sevillanas a folkloric dance of Sevilla that was later adopted into flamenco dance.
Marcela Aguayo has been studying different dance forms for over 15 years. She has studied and performed with the top performers in the Los Angeles flamenco community. Marcela performs regularly in southern California flamenco tablaos: Alegria, El Cid, Tapas and Café Sevilla.
