Oskar Fischinger: Paintings from the Permanent Collection
May 31 – June 17, 2018
The German-born Oskar Fischinger (1900-1967) was an abstract artist working in both painting and film. Based in Berlin from 1927, he was acclaimed for his technically innovative art films, in which he animated forms and colors and synchronized them with music. The addition of motion and sound brought new dimensions to the abstract art pioneered by Wassily Kandinsky and other avant-garde painters of the early twentieth century.

MEET OUR FEATURED ARTIST
Join us at Quorum Art Gallery on June 7th from 6 pm – 9 pm for Art Walk and meet our featured artist of the month, Elaine Ruettiger.
Elaine Ruettiger attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University at Fullerton. After twenty years as a professional interior designer, she rediscovered her interest in painting, and has since developed her talents through classes, workshops, and self-study.
Rich and vibrant color is the hallmark of this artist’s works. Inspired by the great variety of plants in nature, she often paints large-scale pieces, many of flowers from her own backyard.
Visits to tropical places have resulted in colorful, memorable landscapes and seascapes.
Limited entries in local, regional, and international competitions have earned some prestigious awards, including Grand Prize Winner in International Artist Magazine 2008 Floral and
Garden Competition. Her work is being increasingly collected.

Free & open to the public.
June 16-30, 2018 | SOLO EXHIBITION WITH PAT MCNABB MARTIN
“BETWEEN THE LINES”
Basic, raw, and stretching boundaries, Pat McNabb Martin leaves each composition to the viewer’s discretion. Never over intellectualizing a painting she concerns herself with the canvas surface, always experimenting to create new and unique marks. Each painting is an emergent field of color often laced with exotic fluorescent and metallic paints. Her intuitive use of the canvas surface, texture, and color saturates the viewer’s eye allowing for personal interpretation.
Please join us at Avran for the Opening Reception of Pat’s beautiful work. Great opportunity to meet the artist and experience a special viewing of her paintings.
