MEET OUR FEATURED ARTIST

Join us at Quorum Art Gallery on February 7th from 6 pm – 9 pm for Art Walk and meet our featured artist of the month, Chilean award-winning fine art photographer, Lu Ross!

A review of Lu Ross’ art pieces reveals a great deal about the artist’s love for nature, color, and abstraction and suggests a passionate and emotional view of the world. Lu captures the essence and life of a scene through the play of light and color – be it representational or abstract-depicting life as it feels not as it is. Her work is characterized by her masterful use of the artistic elements of line, texture, shape, and color. Her favorite subject matter is the beauty found in nature and it’s interaction with light, especially the magical light found during sunset and sunrise. Her abstract work is often an isolated section of a scene, yet its color and expression convey strong emotions.

Matters of the Heart – A Group Exhibition
February 7 to February 29, 2019
Artist Reception: Thursday February 7 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Please join us Thursday February 7, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm for the artist reception which will include art, live music and more.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the month of February will be all about the heart.

Just as discussion about the heart is a subjective matter, so too is the interpretation of the theme for our February show. For this group exhibition we invited artists to take a conceptual, literal or emotional approach on matters of the heart.

The accepted work not only evokes the various feelings of love (passion, affection, lust, tenderness, infatuation, etc.), but also includes literal images of hearts themselves.

Works in this exhibition include, Digital Art, Drawings, Wood, Graphite, Mixed Media, New Media, and Oil.

Artists include:  Herman Aguirre, Andrea Cook, Tara Doherty, Nadine Franklin, Nila Frederiksen, Debbie Grossman, Jessica Hansen, Henry Harris, Jeannie Hua, Craig Hubbard, Mel Johnson, Michael King, Mis Kyrene, Huiming Li, Gail Martinez, Marie Massey, Penny McManigal, Rebecca Medel, Heather Millenaar, Mona Niko, Tommy Orosco, Victoria Pendragon, Chris Rocket, Roberta Rousos, Stacy Slaten, Helena Starcevic, Karl Tani, Oz VanRosen, Samantha Varela, Jeff Warren, Jean Wetta, Craig Wood, and Jackson Zorn.

Quickly becoming one of the premier contemporary and fine art galleries in Laguna Beach, California; Las Laguna Gallery is dedicated to the exploration and engagement of contemporary and fine art visual culture – regionally, nationally and internationally; through unique collaborations between artists, students and the community.

Las Laguna Gallery is located on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Village. Laguna Village is an artist alcove situated on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This location is a must stop location with artist galleries, and jewelry shops. Our location features a restaurant, bar, and there is live music in the fire-side theatre Tuesday thru Saturday.

Las Laguna Gallery is opened every day but Wednesday from 11am to 5pm and by appointment.
